In some cases that require minor adjustments we can even achieve orthodontic changes using veneers thereby engineering the perfect smile in 3-4 weeks as opposed to years of orthodontic treatment (braces). Veneers are wafer thin pieces of porcelain that are affixed to the front of the tooth. They can be used for many reasons including repairing chipped, badly stained, misshapen, crooked or gapped teeth as well as creating a more aesthetically pleasing smile cosmetically. After discussing your desired shape and color, you and Dr. Almasri will together determine what will be the best solution for you. A wax mock-up will be made and adjusted to reflect the desired result.
The veneer preparation is very simple and takes just two visits. On the first appointment, the tooth is prepared by sanding down the front surface of the tooth and reshaping the enamel. A temporary crown is placed, and the impression for the permanent veneer is taken. This impression is then sent to our lab to be crafted by an adept ceramist. Your second appointment will consist of removing the temporary veneer, placing the permanent veneer, checking the bite to ensure proper fit, an making any minor adjustments that may be necessary.
